Field Manual, TC 21-24 Rapelling
SKU:

NOTE: PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. NO WARRANY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.

This circular provides basic rappelling techniques to soldiers and leaders for the conduct of rappelling operations. It serves as the primary reference for both resident and nonresident instruction presented to cadets, officer candidates, and both commissioned and noncommissioned officers. This circular also discusses several advanced techniques dealing with infiltration and exfiltration.

Safety is always the most important consideration when conducting training. This circular provides guidelines for commanders to conduct operations safely. Commanders at all levels must analyze the complete training event to determine the degree of risk involved to men and or equipment (Appendix A).

Rappelling operations are inherently dangerous; therefore, the safety notes and considerations presented in this circular are the minimum acceptable standards.
