The MINIMI vest is versatile, allowing the user to change from the MG roll to a standard rifle man role with out changing the vest.

It will hold 7.62 NATO or 5.56 NATO linked rounds. The two large pouches swill hold 210 rounds of 7.62 each and the small pouch will hold 80 rounds of linked 7.62 ammo, giving you a minimum of 500 rounds of carry capacity in 7.62.

The larger pouches also have dividers that can be used to have two separate links of ammo (100 & 100) rather than a continuous link, or 8 M16/AR magazines, or 6 FN-FAL magazines (or similar). This gives the user a total of 16 M16/AR mags or 12 FAL-sized. In addition, the smaller front pouch will hold 3 M16/AR, AK magazines or 3 FAL or similar magazines. Grand total of 19 M16 or 15 FAL or similar magazines.

The left large pouch has a side insert for the Glock 17. This is retained by a Velcro strap. The small front pouch has two smaller pouches on each side to hold a Glock 17 magazine in each pouch, for a total of two additional pistol magazines.

This vest will also features: 6 grenade pouches, 1 pen flare pouch and 1 pen flare strip which will hold 11 cartridges, 1 multi-tool pouch, 1 M118 smoke grenade or similar, 1 parachute flare with a quick removal strap, 1 helmet carrier, 1 large main rear pack which will also fold out of the way to accommodate a frame-less pack.

The vest has two cinching straps that will cinch the entire vest so that it rides with the individual. Once cinched down, there is virtually no movement of the vest as it molds to the body. Note that the vest is lined with cushioned inserts so as not to rub against the body and prevent chaffing. These inserts are removable.
